A Large White Brick Fireplace Wall Built for This Orlando Home

This White Brick Fireplace Wall in Orlando was designed as a large architectural focal point for a living room with high ceilings. The structure measures approximately 12 feet high by 11 feet wide and creates one organized feature for the television, handcrafted wood mantel, linear electric fireplace and matching hearth bench.

The full-height Old Chicago white brick gives the wall depth and texture, while the light finish keeps the oversized construction from appearing visually heavy. Dark-stained wood elements create contrast and emphasize the horizontal proportions of the design.

The project was completed in Orlando, Florida, in June 2025.

Full-Height Old Chicago White Brick

The fireplace wall was finished with Old Chicago-style white brick from the lower bench to the ceiling. The irregular brick texture adds traditional character while the white finish coordinates with the bright Florida interior.

Using the same material across the complete height of the wall creates a continuous architectural surface rather than a collection of separate decorative sections.

Custom Framing and Wall Preparation

Before the brick installation, the wall was framed around the exact dimensions of the television, mantel and large linear fireplace. Dedicated openings and mounting areas were prepared so the components would remain centered and proportional.

Planning the complete layout before finishing allowed the television, fireplace and woodwork to function as one unified composition.

Handcrafted Dark Wood Mantel

The wood mantel was built by hand and finished in a rich dark stain. Its strong horizontal line separates the television area from the fireplace and creates contrast against the textured white brick.

The width and depth were selected specifically for the scale of the approximately 11-foot-wide wall.

Matching Hearth Bench

A matching handcrafted bench was installed across the bottom of the fireplace wall. The dark wood finish coordinates with the mantel and gives the base of the oversized structure more visual weight.

The bench also creates a clean transition between the brick wall and the surrounding flooring.

Large Linear Electric Fireplace

A wide linear electric fireplace was recessed into the lower portion of the wall. Its long horizontal format complements the dimensions of the mantel, bench and television.

The insert creates a modern fireplace feature while preserving the clean appearance of the traditional brick wall.

Integrated Television Area

The television was mounted within the upper section of the brick wall. Its position was determined before construction based on the wall height, fireplace location, mantel depth and viewing distance.

This integrated layout keeps all entertainment elements centered within the fireplace wall rather than spread across the room.

Custom Crown Molding and Trim

Crown molding was installed across the top of the wall to create a finished transition between the brick and ceiling. The molding helps the new structure feel connected to the existing architectural details of the home.

Careful attention was also given to the brick edges, side returns and trim transitions around the complete structure.

Why This White Brick Fireplace Wall Works

The design combines the character of traditional brick with the clean proportions of a modern entertainment wall.

The white brick keeps the tall structure bright, while the dark mantel, bench, television and fireplace provide strong contrast. The large dimensions also match the scale of the room, preventing the fireplace wall from appearing too small beneath the high ceiling.

Can white brick be installed from the floor to the ceiling?

Yes. A full-height brick finish creates a stronger architectural focal point and works especially well in rooms with tall ceilings.

Can a large TV be mounted on a brick fireplace wall?

Yes. The framing and TV mounting area should be planned before the brick is installed so that the mount can be secured correctly.

Can a linear electric fireplace be recessed into a brick wall?
